Soup of the night

Meaning chicken soup. I like to roast a chicken for the soup-making potential. So do the usual, onion or leek, carrot, celery (there's a french name for that which I am frightened of misspelling, so I won't try); add stock and tomato (if you like), and some barley or rice; bay leaf, thyme or other herbage; about 15 minutes from dishing up, add some kale or something else green, and some shredded chicken. Salt and lemon to taste.
