The Secret Room

The novel tells the story of Nicky, a young philosophy student and his existential search through time and space in order to piece together his grandfather’s immigration story from Sicily to Canada. These cardinal points form the backbone of the novel which describes with great precision the upsetting balance of an internal psychological fight. The protagonist wavers between a past that seems tangible, concrete and real and a present which appears to him confusing, intangible and unauthentic. This quasi Pirandellian game of alternations creates a forest through which Nicky must progress to give his life meaning.
